Ecocentro IPEC, the vision and the successful experience
It all began in 1999 in Brazil.
Our family journey started over twenty years ago when we decided to create an ecological centre—Ecocentro IPEC—in Brazil. We recognised the urgent need for accessible, practical solutions to sustainability that could catalyse positive change in a rapidly evolving world. We also envisioned the centre as a vibrant educational hub for ecological innovation, appropriate technologies and community organisation.
Today, that vision lives on through the widely celebrated experience of Ecocentro IPEC. People aged 5 to 80 have visited and experienced the challenges and joys of sustainable living. It’s a space where visitors can use a composting toilet for the first time, harvest fresh food and explore solar-powered buildings—all within a safe, welcoming environment designed for learning and inspiration.
The success of our educational programs has taken us across many continents, giving rise to Planet Schooling—a platform designed to inspire, guide and support families with practical permaculture tools for a greener future. Through the Planet Schooling book, the Sustainable Solutions Series, hands-on Workbooks and Journals, we’re proud to share decades of lived experience.
